May 27, 2024 through June 6, 2024, I am offering a pilgrimage to Italy, centered on Rome and a visit to St. Padre Pio’s Shrine. We’ll also visit: Capri; Sorrento; Loretto; Lanciano and Pompeii. If the Pope is in Rome, we’ll attend his Wednesday general audience. If you’re interested, let me know, or click here.
The tour company with whom I plan my pilgrimages only books four star hotels. The cost of the trip includes airfare, hotels, most meals (lunch is generally on our own) and tips.
Padre Pio was a Franciscan Friar known for having the stigmata and his ability to read souls. He told a young Polish Bishop that he (the Bishop) would one day be pope. That man became Pope John Paul II. Padre Pio was a favorite of American military personnel during WWII and was credited with many miracles.
Loretto is a lovely small town that has the home of the Holy Family. Legend has it that it was flown to Italy by angels to preserve it from destruction during the Crusader era. Lanciano is the site of a famous Eucharistic miracle. Sorrento has beautiful views of the Bay of Naples.
It promises to be a wonderful trip. Join me!
REMEMBER: YOU CAN STILL ACCESS THE CHURCH DURING JULY
While much of our physical plant will be closed this month due to a major sewer line project, there will be no trouble entering the church! All daily Masses will be celebrated in the main church and Wednesday adoration will occur in the church as well. Your generous contributions to our weekly collection has made these repairs possible. I hope you know how grateful I am for your commitment to our parish.
FATHER JEROME AND I HAVE BEEN HERE ONE YEAR NOW!
You know, St. Eugene was never on my assignment radar. Thus, I was very surprised to be assigned here. This first year has flown by, and I hope and pray that it is the first of many years here. This is a very down to earth parish; friendly, patient, and generous. I remember one of the first things for which I asked you was socks for the homeless. Within a few days, we had socks piled up to be given away. I was moved and I remember thinking, “this is a very good sign”. Please know how proud Fr. Jerome and I are to serve here.
