Our Secular Franciscans are gathering gloves to give to the homeless, and I promised them that I would help promote that cause. If you would, consider buying a pair of gloves and bringing them with you to Sunday Mass. Apparently, most of the homeless wear two pair of gloves, a light weight glove and heavier glove over that. So any type of glove will be appreciated. Advent is a great season during which we should do small acts of charity.
CONSIDER A YEAR END GIFT TO THE PARISH
If you have the means, please consider giving the parish a year end gift. Remember that we can accept gifts of stock. It might be advantageous to you to donate an underperforming stock and take a tax break on it.
PARISH PENANCE SERVICE MONDAY, DECEMBER THE 19TH AT 6PM
If you have yet to make a good confession before Christmas, our Advent penance service is coming up and will provide you an opportunity to gain the grace of that sacrament. We’ll have approximately a dozen priests, and most of them are able to hear a confession in Spanish. Note that a communal penance service is not the time for long conversations with a priest. Brevity is a virtue on these occasions.
