1. TEN BUCK SUNDAY will occur every month on the Fourth Sunday. We ask everyone 18 and over to donate ten dollars. The money will be used to furnish the Early Childhood Development Center. You will be amazed at the amount of money we can raise through these small gifts.
2. PENNIES FOR PLAYGROUNDS is a children’s collection and the giving bowl will be available at every weekend Mass. The money collected will be used to build the new playground for the Early Childhood Development Center and for repairs on our existing playground.
3. YOUR OCMD PLEDGE monies will be used 100% for the Capital Campaign. We have collected sufficient funds to fulfill our $1.1 million dollar gift to the Shrine. If you paused your pledge, please consider fulfilling it.
4. NEW PLEDGES ARE NEEDED! If you are asked to pledge, please keep an open heart and mind. We need to raise $5 million to build the Childhood Center and reclaim space for parish ministries.
BATHROOM AND SEWER LINE WOES
You may have noticed that we are having work done on sewer lines serving the bathrooms outside of Ross Hall. They collapsed, basically. The work being done will restore one of the bathrooms soon (the Men’s, but it will be converted into a Women’s). The major work will be done this summer because the large space outside of Ross Hall will have to be torn up. Please bear with us.
NOVEMBER AND PRAYERS FOR THE DEAD
During November, we intensify our prayers on behalf of the dead. I would encourage you to incorporate prayers for your deceased loved ones into your daily routine. Saying a rosary for them is a beautiful way to pray for them. Having a Mass said for them is even more powerful. Remember that we believe the work of salvation continues even after physical death. If we die with unrepented venial sins on our conscience, the Lord in his mercy can purge us of them. This is necessary because no sin may enter into the presence of God. Our prayers for the dead help them turn their hearts to God’s grace.
