Parish photo directories are a great way to promote community. Those people you see at Mass but never have caught their name will become known to you. As a pastor, photo directories help me tremendously. So, please sign up. There is no cost or obligation to buy photos. You will receive a complimentary 8x10, and a copy of the directory. A REMINDER: WE DO NOT HAVE A FOOD PANTRY AND DO NOT COLLECT FOOD

Instead, we encourage our parishioners to donate food to Palomar at 1140 N. Hudson Ave, OKC. Or, the Oklahoma Regional Food Bank at 3335 S. Purdue Ave. Or, The Britville Community Food Pantry at 8717 N. Western (this is the closest to the parish). Please, don’t give any organization food that has expired. They can’t use it. If you leave expired food here at St Eugene, you’re simply creating more work for our staff, and not helping the hungry.

HAVE YOU PLEDGED TO OUR CAPITAL CAMPAIGN YET?

I continue to pray for 200 more donors for our campaign. I firmly intend to break ground in spring of next year. We have to, or inflation will place this project further out of reach. If possible, a $100 gift per month from 200 donors would be the best possible outcome. However, a gift of any size is welcomed and appreciated. One way to give to the campaign is to donate stock. You could possibly reap tax benefits and help us build for the future.

OCTOBER IS THE MONTH OF THE ROSARY!

Praying the rosary as a family is a great habit to foster, and October would be a great month to begin that habit. And, a little bit of rosary folklore: many pray the rosary before they go to sleep, and sometimes fall asleep before the rosary is finished. Your guardian angel, it is said, finishes the rosary for you.
