Currently, our Religious Education program is still in need of volunteers to teach or assist in our classes. We will have a Sunday morning RE session between the 9:30 a.m. and noon Mass, and a Wednesday evening session.
Helping to pass on the faith to the next generation is a terrific way to assist the parish in its mission. Please contact Judi Wilkinson, our DRE, if you would like to volunteer.
A SPECIAL WORD OF PRAISE FOR THE WOMEN’S ALTAR SOCIETY
Many are unaware of the quiet, holy work done by the Women’s Altar Society. Some think all they do would be sewing or washing linens. Actually, their work is much broader and, frankly, it would be difficult for the parish to function without the Altar Society.
Let me give you but one example. All of the supplies you see on the Altar and those used for worship are all paid for by the Altar Society and I am always thankful for the Altar Society’s assistance. Women, you don’t have to be “old” to be a member of the Altar Society. You simply have to be open and willing to volunteer now and again to aid in the parish’s worship and service. Consider joining!
NEW PEWS FOR OUR APSE/CHOIR SPACE ARE COMING!
You may remember that I mentioned this some months ago. We’ve order pews to fit the space where our choir sings. The pews will look much more “churchy” and appropriate than the chairs currently being used.
We have a generous matching pledge, and we’ve raised an additional $15,000 for the project. We are currently approximately $5,000 away from meeting the goal. The pews will be here sometime next month. If you would like to give a gift for this project, talk with Sharon Blakely in the parish office.
