In our Narthex, we have an Angel Tree for our RE teachers and the teachers in our school. A small item needed for their classroom is written on each angel. We ask that you take an angel from the tree, buy the item, wrap it, tape the angel to the package, and bring it back and place it under the tree. I and other staff will distribute the gifts to the teachers. Our teachers often use money of their own to buy supplies for their classroom or their students. The angel tree is a great way to help them with their important ministry, and to let them know that we care about them. Thank you for participating.
AMEN SUNDAY ON DECEMBER 10!!
At each of the Masses on December 10, we’re going to provide an opportunity to make a pledge to the Capital Campaign. As you know, the project is a $6 million endeavor. We’re currently very close to $5.5 million in cash and pledges. The pledges are for five years. We hope to wrap up our fundraising by the end of the year and break ground in the spring of next year. Recently, our Senior Citizen’s group produced a video explaining why the Early Childhood Center will be a blessing for all ministries within the parish. Groups like the Senior Ministry will be able to reclaim space more suitable for their needs. If you haven’t seen the video, you can find it on our Facebook Page or the parish website.
A STORY FROM THE COAT DRIVE
On Tuesday, a woman came into the office asking if we had any coats left. Sharon Blakely and I took her down to the bin in which several coats had been donated. She found a nice warm coat that fit, all the while explaining to us that she had just moved into a sober living house and didn’t have much clothing. She was very grateful. These small donations that we make to the poor mean so much. I appreciate everyone who donated to this annual collection. May God bless your generosity!
