The Archdiocese has looked over our financial report concerning our campaign and has approved our request to begin construction soon.
Now, we are still seeking pledges, and cash is always helpful in these construction projects. I want to say thank you to all who have pledged and given so generously to this project.
If all goes as planned, we should have an opening for the new childhood center in the fall of 2025. Generally a building this size would be a one year construction process.
One thing I want to mention is that we’ve had a number of people contribute to this project who are not members of our parish. A number of people who simply believe in quality education for children in a Catholic setting. I think that should make us very grateful as a Parish that we are seen as a community doing good work.
Groundbreaking will occur sometime in March and you will be invited to attend. Demolition of the existing houses on the construction site will take place following that.
MY UPCOMING KNEE REPLACEMENT
While my planned eyelid procedure did not happen for reasons too complicated to explain, I have no choice but to have my knee replaced in early February.
Father Thomas J Boyer is going to come and help out the first weekend after my surgery and will be here also for Ash Wednesday. We have coverage for the next two weekends as well.
I would appreciate your prayers for a successful outcome. After that rather bad fall I took last Lent, my knee has never recovered and the surgery is the final and only option at this point (some of you may remember that Fr Bill Ross of happy memory had both of his knees replaced at the same time. He was a tough guy).
